Daroths

Creatures out of the worst nightmare are the Daroths. Brought by Oltor through the Curtain of time and space they were also cause to their end. Daroths know only survival and they reduce their activities only to this goal. Everything that serves their survival and reproduction is good and everything else is evil. And they have perfect weapons to save their existence from any menace. They are telepaths making instant decision through collective mind. Their bodies are almost invincible. They bear armoured skin, have two hearts and two set of lungs and Daroths are huge with enormous power. They are virtually immortal because when their body dies all the memories of the person are moved to the new body which grows into adulthood in the matter of days. Only when a Daroth dies without an egg ready for the move it dies.

Daroths almost destroyed their original world because they only cared for improvement which would assure their survival. In this they rutted the land in the search for metals and their constant fighting mood caused everyone else to die. Because they did not care for the land it faded and could not feed their population. In this time of great need Daroths were found by Oltors a mystical race with great power but without any concept of hatred, violence or mischief. They invited Daroth to their world and paid for by because they were extinct. Oltors also brought Eldarins who managed to face the threat of Daroths without violence. They summoned a great spell which removed the Daroth from the world into the magical prison of the Pearl where the Daroth lived trapped in time. They would be held there forever if Sirano duke of Romark did not desire the power of the Eldarins and his magic weakened the spell which released the Daroths. An this time they stand against humans and we have no help.

Daroth's life

Daroths can not die. Each pair of a woman and a man creates an egg once in circa 5 year. And when the adult Daroths reaches his age he moves his consciousness into the egg which grows into adult in a few days again. This way however the Daroths can not reproduce because each pair have only 2 eggs. Every 50 year there a season when the Daroths are extra fertile and their grow their numbers. They can die only if the egg is corrupted.

Daroth are fearless warriors. In war they attack with terrible precision governed by their collective mind. They don't like cold which makes them slow and higher ground where the air is too thin for their huge bodies. They also dislike deep water because they can not swim. Most effective weapon against them is fire because they burn like a paper. They are absolutely feared of extinction so that is why they rather destroy all other races then to allow the possibility of being threaten.

"And you have found me. Now answer the question. Are you evil?"

The two Daroth by the door had moved inside. Sirano scanned the group. Two were now missing. A towering Daroth warrior have moved closer, carefully avoiding the fire. "The word has little meaning for us, human. We are Daroth. We are one. There is nothing else of importance. Survival is the ultimate goal. What is good enables us to survive and to continue. What is evil threatens that survival.

"How did the Oltor threaten you? I thought that they saved you."

"They sought to deny us land. They closed the gateway to our own world."

"And the Eldarins?"

"We will not coexist," said the Daroth. "Their magic was strong. They could have ... troubled us."

"So!" shouted Sirano. "That was fear that prompted you."

"We fear nothing!" declared the Daroth, his voice rising.

"You fear extinction!" he shouted. "Your lives are ruled by the terror! That is why you cannot coexist. You believe that every race is as vile and self-centred as your own. And this time you are right. We will destroy you! We will hunt you down and wipe your grotesque species from the face of the earth!"

Sirano finds out the true nature of Daroths
